STAFFORD TOWN CENTRE SMALL BUSINESS RATES RELIEF SCHEME

Stafford Borough Council have introduced the Stafford Town Centre Business Rates Relief Scheme designed to stimulate occupier interest in retail units in certain parts of the Centre. To qualify, businesses need to be "new to the area", that is not already located within the designated scheme geographical boundary. Start up businesses would be classed as such automatically. Eligible businesses can claim, for a twelve month period, a discount on the rates payable up to a maximum of 100% or £10,000, whichever is the lowest.The locations that qualify for this benefit are Crabbery Street, Gaolgate Place, Malt Mill Lane, Princes Street, Stafford Street, Gaolgate Street, the Guildhall Shopping Centre, North Walls (part) and Salter Street.
